Our vacation to Florida: Last day

So...our final morning in Florida started early! We woke up to Aubrey crying around 1 am and brought her to bed to nurse (this was pretty much an every night affair while on vacation!) She fell back to sleep pretty quickly and then both kids ended up sleeping until we had to get them up...always the case, never happens when you want to and are able to sleep in! Sam was feeling much better and asking for juice and goldfish crackers. We headed out for the airport a little while later. On the plane we were informed that it was a crisp 15 degrees in Portsmouth where we'd be landing...brrrrr!! Back to NH and back to the cold and snow. We are so thankful that our car wasn't buried and that our wonderful neighbors had cleaned our driveway for us. Another vacation over...hope you enjoyed it too!

Our vacation to Florida: 8th Day

So, our last full day in Florida we woke up very early to Sam coughing and throwing up, my poor baby was running a fever and just feeling awful! We had planned to leave by 9 am to head to St. Augustine for the day but took our time getting up and ready to go...we were all pretty tired! On the drive there we stopped so Mike could get a coffee at Dunkin Donuts and Sam was so excited because he wanted a donut...so being the sucker I am, we got a box of munchkins...Sam at three chocolate munchkins and I thought he was feeling better...well, soon enough we could hear him throwing up in his car seat...all over himself!! Okay, so gross and he was just so upset he was just covered and screaming for us to get him out!! Mike pulled over as soon as he was able to and we cleaned him up and got some new clothes on him. We had to keep going since we were staying the night in St. Augustine before flying out the next morning and Sam said he wanted to go to the beach.

We did finally make it to the beach and spent about an hour there. Sam is such a trooper, he played for awhile and then laid down so we figured it was time to get to the hotel...of course they both fell asleep on the way there so we drove around the historic part of the town (we plan to visit there again sometime when we can really check it out!) After they woke from their naps and we got all our stuff into our room we had to get dinner...no choice seeing as we all needed to eat and had nothing with us and no menus in the hotel to do takeout. We went for dinner and Sam snuggled up to me in the booth...he ended up falling asleep through most of our meal...so sweet, but no pictures since he was sitting on my purse where the camera was and we didn't want to wake him. I think people in the restaurant probably thought we were horrible parents for taking him out if he was so sick/tired, but we really didn't have much of a choice...and to be honest it was one of the most peaceful meals we had on vacation. I do just hate when he's sick though...it makes me feel so terrible, I wish I could help more but we just had to wait it out.

Later that afternoon after naptime...Sam was starting not to feel too well, but was agreeable enough to let me take a few pictures. He had just started to have a pretty yucky sounding cough...poor guy!

So, our last day with MeMere and PePere we decided to hit the flea market. It was pretty chilly out that day so we went a bit later then planned, but thankfully the sun came out and warmed things up a little. I thought Florida was supposed to be warm all the time, but when we woke up it was in the 30's and the high that day was only in the high 50's, we still wore shorts though because to us in NH 50's is Spring-time weather!

Afterwards the kids were exhausted so they went down for naps...so precious!

Our vacation to Florida: 6th day cont.

So, after a busy day at the beach the kids were in desperate need of baths to get all the sand off of them. Aubrey is just so independant she needs to be in control and loves to stand up especially when she's not supposed to...of course she's pretty cute too so she can get away with it sometimes. Poor little girl inherited her mom's chubby thighs! Sam saw us taking these pictures and decided it'd be cute for him to do too!

Our vacation to Florida: 6th day

So, PePere thought we were crazy for wanting to go to the beach, but we were in Florida and Sam was so excited to get to go...so he went along with it and it rained the whole drive there...looked like we were in for a miserable afternoon. A little while after we got there the sun came out and we ended up with a BEAUTIFUL afternoon!! The kids both had so much fun, we all did. Sam loved driving all his trucks all over the sand and going in the water with his Daddy and Aubrey, well, she really just wanted to eat the sand (YUCK!) and chase after seagulls. We had such a nice afternoon!

Our vacation to Florida: 5th day

So we decided to go to the Animal Kingdom in Disney for our 2nd and last day there. We woke up to Sam telling us to get up it's time to go to the Animal Kingdom...I guess he went to sleep thinking about it! We had a nice day, not great weather, but that's okay. The day ended in a down pour so we got drenched and ended up going for dinner at the rainforest cafe since it was right there and would get us out of the rain for a bit. Also, you'll have to notice some of my favorite pics are of Aubrey enjoying my ice cream...she was in the front carrier so it was hard to avoid and she LOVED it!!
